Application Notes: Tussauds Group - Theme Park Displays
Page under construction - SORRY
Come back soon for a lot more information and some great photos detailing this exciting ongoing project; the largest outdoor network of LED displays in the UK, covering Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures and Alton Towers.
Most of the displays are controlled by our own software via radio MODEMS. The system is supplied via Jayex Technology Ltd and was started at the begining of 2002.
The system comprises:
Each ride has a minimum of a double digit queue time display themed for each ride in a roundel.
The most popular rides have scrolling message displays for general messaging promotions as well as queue times.
At least one 'central' noticeboard giving general promotions and listing ride times for each ride.
General message boards with either 50mm, 100mm or 250mm characters at strategic locations; car parks, railway stations, farms, entrances etc.
Real time clocks for the fast track advanced ticket system (driven directly from the DDS fast track system).
Double clocks to show times of tickets currently being accepted (driven directly from the DDS fast track system).
Load time countdown clocks (Driven from limit switches on the rides).
Our software logs the queue times for each ride to a database so each park has detailed information on ride usage covering the entire season.
Tussauds upgrade the system each season with the addition of new rides, new general message boards & upgrading the displays at popular rides.
